Meet our Pastor

Pastor Daniel is a transplant from California, with many years of learning, loving, and bemusing about this crazy city. As a Baptist pastor, he tries to examine/apply/share biblical teaching with Christians and inquirers alike about faith and life. He enjoys NYC’s density and energy, along with, in EB White’s words, the gifts of loneliness and privacy it bestows.

Hailing from the SF Bay Area, Pastor Daniel’s wife Mona has called NYC home for the past 25 years. She attended UC Berkeley for college where she met and committed her life to Jesus Christ. An experienced high school math teacher, she is always recruiting new volleyball enthusiasts to join her on the court. Lending her teaching, discipleship and cooking skills, Mona serves Compass in a myriad of ways.

The Lees have two grown kids, one recently having completed and the other in the final year of graduate school, aka, “What’s the interest rate on that loan?” school. Together they try to have fun in the home, in the workplace, and in shared ministry.
